One Laptop Per Child on 60 Minutes

Just in case you don't watch 60 Minutes every week like I do, here is a low quality version of the segment than ran last Sunday on the One Laptop Per Child Project. This is posted with the fair usage rights in mind.

If you'd like to purchase a high quality version of this segment on DVD, feel free to visit CBS' page for their segment... and of course, watch 60 Minutes every week!

OLPC

Thanks for sharing this video Scott. I always thought I knew plenty about this project but this report definitely speaks volumes about what ignorant people/companies will do. I never heard of these other laptop projects such as Intel's. OLPC is nearly a household term even non-geeks seem to identify with. I simply see any intrusion by other companies as attempts to squash the project over stupid childish banter. Big deal OLPC uses AMD! Why not just join the effort rather compete?! Some people just can't get over the fear someone might get rich from this project and simply want to find their piece of the pie. This includes stingy people here in the US insisting they have the ability to get one of these laptops as their right to it. If it were freely available, I guarantee you the interest in getting one is far less interesting. Nintendo Wii for example... sound familiar?
