LUG Meetings

Meet up with Montana Linux people on IRC. We currently gather at the #ubuntu-montana room on the freenode network. Stop in and say "hello" or even ask/answer some questions. Don't have to be a Ubuntu user either. Or use the web-based chat client.

Video: Changing the World One Line of Code at a Time

Just noticed that the Linux Foundaton posted this video 2 days ago. I recognize at least 5 of the voices in the video: Jim Zemlin, Richard Stallman, Eben Upton, Mark Shuttleworth and of course Linus Torvalds. A few other voices seem really familiar and I have some guesses but I'm not sure if I'm correct. Anyone else care to guess?

Oh, here's another by the Linux Foundation from about two weeks ago that basically merges clips from the recent Gabe Newell presentation and an interview with Linus Torvalds into a nice short, easily digested package.

Thanks Scott for sharing these video's. I know I don't make it over to the Linux Foundation website very often so it becomes an after thought and I end up missing out on some good clips. So I appreciate the time you put into finding and sharing them.

I really like the potential ofwhat gaming might do for Linux. Non-gamers have benefitted from hardware advancements which were in response to gamers and I think Linux users as a whole might just find many non-gaming benefits resulting from the gaming industry embracing Linux. Time will tell.
