Video: TED Talk on Lack of Fashion Copyright

David Eder brought this video to my attention last night at the BozemanLUG meeting. I believe I saw some blurb on Slashdot some time ago about this but I never made it to the video. I'm posting it here as to expose a few more to it. Enjoy:

Response to TED presentation on fashion and copyright

As it is with most TED presentations, this talk is not only engaging but also enlightening.

Having recently re-read "The Cathedral and The Bazaar" by Eric Raymond and still not fully understanding the construction model of free and open software, I found this presentation put a few more pieces of the puzzle together for me.

New paradigms of productivity are putting us in a time of rapid change every bit as important and confusing as the fall of Rome and the onset of the industrial revolution.

Those who are able to understand and adapt the soonest, and even to carry the new paradigm further, will be the next creators of prosperity.
