Video: LCA 2011 Keynote Geoff Huston

|

At the January 2011 BozemanLUG meeting, David Eder showed us how to get an IPv6 address and then tunnel it through an existing static IPv4 address. During the meeting we discussed Jon Corbet's LWN summary of Geoff Huston's Keynote from linux.conf.au. The video of that talk has become available and is presented below in webm format. If you have any problems watching it in your browser, just right-click on the link below and "Save link target as..." to download. It should play in any newer video player that supports webm.

I subtitle this presentation, The Coming IPocalypse. :)

Just a short note, I don't have Firefox 4 installed which is suppose to play webm files (Firefox 3.x is not a supported browser). I do have Opera 11 installed and it is suppose to work so I opened this page there, I got the player bar but it wouldn't play for some reason. I read VLC was suppose to work but it was missing the decoder (I am running Ubuntu 10.04). Then I tried doing a file open on the .webm file using Opera 11 as the application and it worked, was able to view the video. Curious why Opera 11 wouldn't play (I know HTML5 is involved). But anyway, this is one approach to playing webm files if you have difficulty.

I primarily use Google Chrome 8 and it works fine. VLC added Webm support with version 1.10 I think so you need that version or newer. I believe the current version of VLC is 1.16.
