Meet up with Montana Linux people on IRC. We currently gather at the #ubuntu-montana room on the freenode network. Stop in and say "hello" or even ask/answer some questions. Don't have to be a Ubuntu user either. Or use the web-based chat client.

Creating a local Synaptic Repository using ad-hoc wireless (PCLinuxOS)

I created a tutorial of sorts for creating a local repo for synaptic, it is written for PCLinuxOS (RPM) but the same process could be used for DEB repositories for any system that uses the Synaptic Package Manager. You can find it here:

PCLinuxOS Minime 2008 Released

Here is a little MiniMe 2008 (296mb) you can play with and customize the way you want. Comes with 2.6.22.15 kernel, Alsa 1.0.15 and a very basic KDE 3.5.8 desktop. Also included on the livecd are ndiswrapper support files supporting various wireless network cards and more…
